My name is Andrew Ennis.  I have a background in environmental sciences and GIS work.  I started this blog as an outlet for my personal explorations of cartographic design and imagery.  The most important thing about this blog, for me, is to have fun and learn new techniques. I’m not attempting to reinvent the wheel here.  A lot of the material I will be posting on this blog will be generated using already existing methodology that I am toying around with.  I am not so much interested in strict cartographic principals and standards for the sake of making maps that show data, facts or analysis, but am more interested in creating designs that use cartographic, or geographic imagery as the visual medium. And mostly, it’s supposed to be fun.
